An organization is your team’s private workspace in My Kit. All of your inventory — firearms, ammunition, gear, range sessions, and everything else — lives inside your organization and is never visible to anyone outside it. Every My Kit account belongs to at least one organization.Documentation Index

Membership roles
Every member of an organization is assigned one of three roles. Roles control what each person can see and do within the workspace.| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control over the organization. Can manage all inventory, invite and remove members, change member roles, and delete the organization. There is exactly one owner per organization. |
| Admin | Can manage inventory across all modules and manage members, but cannot delete the organization or transfer ownership. |
| Member | Can view and edit inventory but does not have access to organization settings or member management. |
Your role is shown on your profile and applies to everything inside that organization’s workspace.
Data isolation
Every organization’s data is completely isolated from every other organization. You can only ever see inventory that belongs to your own workspace — there is no way to view, search, or access another organization’s firearms, gear, or records. This applies to all five inventory modules: Armory, Gear Cage, Ammo Depot, Closet, and Range Day.If you need to share specific items or drill templates with someone outside your organization, see the sharing features documentation.
Inviting members
Member invitations are managed by organization owners and admins. If you’d like to add someone to your workspace, reach out to your organization owner. Self-service invite flows are not yet available in the dashboard — this feature is on the roadmap. If you’re an owner or admin and need to onboard a new team member today, contact My Kit support for assistance.Organization name and slug
Each organization has a name (a human-readable label, e.g., “Alpha Team”) and a slug (a short URL-safe identifier, e.g.,alpha-team). The slug is used internally to identify your workspace. You can view your organization’s name and slug in your account settings.
Can I belong to more than one organization?
Can I belong to more than one organization?
Yes. Your My Kit account can be a member of multiple organizations. Each organization is a separate workspace with its own inventory and member list. Switching between organizations will show only the data that belongs to that workspace.
What happens if the organization owner leaves?
What happens if the organization owner leaves?
If an account with the owner role is deleted, the organization and all its inventory is also deleted. Owners should transfer ownership to another member before leaving or deleting their account to avoid data loss.
Can I change my role?
Can I change my role?
Roles can only be changed by an organization owner. If you need your role updated, contact your organization owner directly.
