Action items are automatic alerts generated from the data in your inventory. They appear in the Action Items panel on the main dashboard and require no manual setup beyond configuring the relevant fields on your firearms, accessories, gear, and ammunition. When everything is in order, the panel shows “All clear — no action items.”

Priority levels

Every action item carries one of two priority levels. Critical — requires immediate attention. Items flagged critical include overdue cleaning, overdue battery replacements, out-of-service firearms or gear, and ammunition that is completely out of stock. A red CRITICAL badge with a count appears next to the “Action Items” heading when any critical items are present. Warning — requires attention soon. Items flagged warning include cleaning or battery replacement due within the next 14 days and ammunition below its low-stock threshold. Critical items sort to the top of the list above warnings.

Action item types

What triggers it: A firearm has a Cleaning interval (days) set and its Last cleaned date is within 14 days of the next due date, or past it.Priority:
  • Warning — due within 1–14 days
  • Critical — overdue (past the due date)
What you see: The firearm name and a message like “Due in 7 days” or “Overdue by 3 days.”How to resolve: Click Resolved on the action item. This records today as the new Last cleaned date for that firearm and clears the alert. You can also navigate to the firearm in the Armory and update the field manually. How to configure: Open a firearm in the Armory, set a Cleaning interval (days) value, and record a Last cleaned date. My Kit calculates the next due date automatically.
What triggers it: An accessory attached to a firearm, or a gear item in your Gear Cage, has Has battery enabled, a Battery interval (days) set, and its Last battery changed date is within 14 days of the next replacement, or past it.Priority:
  • Warning — due within 1–14 days
  • Critical — overdue
What you see: The accessory or gear item name, along with the parent firearm name if applicable (shown as ”· Firearm name”), and a due or overdue message. How to resolve: Click Resolved on the action item. This records today as the new Last battery changed date and clears the alert. How to configure: On an accessory (inside a firearm record in the Armory) or a gear item (in the Gear Cage), enable Has battery, set a Battery interval (days), and record a Last battery changed date.
What triggers it: A firearm or gear item has In service set to off (disabled).Priority: Always critical. What you see: The item name and a detail line — either “Out of service” or “Out of service — [reason]” if you entered a reason. How to resolve: Click the action item to go to the item’s page in the Armory or Gear Cage. Mark the item back In service when it’s ready for use, or update the reason if the status has changed. How to configure: The In service toggle and optional Out of service reason field are on every firearm and gear item record.
What triggers it: An ammunition entry has a quantity greater than zero but below its Low stock threshold. If no threshold is set, My Kit uses a default of 100 rounds.Priority: Always warning. What you see: The ammo brand, product line, and caliber, with the current round count — for example, “47 rounds remaining.”How to resolve: Click Buy on the action item. If a product URL is saved on the ammo record, the link opens in a new tab. Otherwise, you’re taken to the ammo edit page where you can update the quantity or add a product URL for next time. How to configure: Open an ammunition entry in the Ammo Depot and set a Low stock threshold value. Add a Product URL to enable the direct buy link.
What triggers it: An ammunition entry has a quantity of exactly zero.Priority: Always critical. What you see: The ammo brand, product line, and caliber, with the detail “Out of stock.”How to resolve: Click Buy on the action item to open the product URL or navigate to the ammo edit page to update the quantity after restocking. How to configure: No extra configuration needed — any ammo entry that hits zero triggers this automatically. Add a Product URL to the record to enable the direct buy link.

Resolve buttons

Action items for cleaning and battery replacement show a Resolved button directly in the panel. Clicking it records today’s date as the new last-cleaned or last-battery-changed date without requiring you to open the item. The alert disappears immediately. Action items for low stock and out-of-stock ammo show a Buy button. If the ammo record has a product URL, clicking Buy opens that URL in a new tab. Either way, you’re also redirected to the ammo edit page so you can update the round count. Out-of-service alerts do not have a resolve button — you need to update the item’s In service status directly in the Armory or Gear Cage.
