The Cleaning tab in the Armory gives you two tools for managing firearm maintenance: a cleaning supplies inventory and a procedure builder. Supplies let you catalog the products you own — CLPs, solvents, patches, and brushes. Procedures let you assemble those supplies into repeatable, step-by-step cleaning guides that you can link directly to a firearm. Together, they power the cleaning reminders that surface on your dashboard. Select Armory from the sidebar and choose the Cleaning tab to manage your supplies and procedures.

Cleaning supplies

Cleaning supplies are the consumables and tools you use to clean your firearms. Track them here so you can reference them inside procedure steps.

Add a cleaning supply

Click Add supply on the Cleaning tab and fill in the fields:
  • Name (required) — the product name (e.g., “Hoppe’s No. 9”, “M-Pro 7 CLP”)
  • Brand — the manufacturer or brand
  • Type — the supply category: CLP, Solvent, Lubricant, Brush, Patch, Rod, or another type
  • Product URL — a link to the product page for easy reordering
  • Notes — freeform notes such as dilution ratios, usage tips, or storage instructions
Click Save to add the supply to your inventory. It is now available to reference in procedure steps.

Cleaning procedures

A cleaning procedure is an ordered list of steps that describes exactly how to clean a firearm. Each step can reference one or more cleaning supplies from your inventory, so the person cleaning knows exactly what products to use.

Create a cleaning procedure

1

Open the procedure builder

On the Cleaning tab, click Add procedure.
2

Name and describe the procedure

  • Name (required) — a clear name for the procedure (e.g., “Glock 19 full strip and lube”)
  • Description — an overview of what the procedure covers; useful when you have multiple procedures and need to distinguish between a quick field clean and a detailed deep clean
3

Add steps

Click Add step to create the first step. Each step has three fields:
  • Title (required) — a short label for the step (e.g., “Field strip”, “Clean the barrel”, “Lubricate slide rails”)
  • Instructions — detailed instructions for completing the step. Write as much or as little as you need.
  • Supplies — select one or more cleaning supplies from your inventory to associate with this step. The supplies appear alongside the step when the procedure is displayed.
Repeat this process to add as many steps as the procedure requires. You can reorder steps by dragging them.
4

Save the procedure

Click Save. The procedure is now available to link to any firearm in your Armory.
Once a procedure exists, open any firearm’s edit form and set the Cleaning procedure field to the procedure you want to associate with it. When a cleaning action item for that firearm is resolved from the dashboard, My Kit displays the linked procedure so the correct steps are always at hand.
My Kit triggers a cleaning reminder on the dashboard 14 days before the next cleaning is due. The next due date is calculated by adding the cleaning interval to the last cleaned date on the firearm record. Set both fields on every firearm you actively shoot to keep reminders accurate.

Resolving cleaning action items

When a cleaning reminder appears in your dashboard action items, you have two ways to resolve it:
Click the action item to open it. My Kit shows the firearm name, the days since last cleaning, and — if one is linked — the full cleaning procedure with its steps and supplies. Click Mark as cleaned to resolve the item. My Kit sets the last cleaned date to today and dismisses the action item.
Resolving cleaning items from the dashboard is faster and shows the linked procedure inline, making it the preferred flow when you are actively working through a cleaning session.
