The Sharing feature lets you send a copy of any drill, firearm, gear item, or range bag to another My Kit user. When you share something, the system captures a point-in-time snapshot of that item and delivers it to the recipient’s Inbox. The recipient can then accept the share to copy it into their own organization’s inventory, or deny it if it is not relevant to them.Documentation Index

What you can share
| Type | Where to find it | What gets sent |
|---|---|---|
| Drill | Range Day > Drills tab | Drill template and all steps |
| Firearm | Armory | Firearm record and linked accessories |
| Gear item | Gear Cage | All item fields |
| Range bag | Range Day > Range Bags tab | Bag name and full item list |
How sharing works conceptually
When you click Share on any supported item, you enter the recipient’s My Kit account email and an optional message. My Kit creates a share record containing a frozen snapshot of the item’s data and places it in the recipient’s Inbox. The recipient has full control over whether to accept or deny the incoming share. Accepted shares are copied into the recipient’s organization as new items. There is no ongoing link between your original and the copy in their org — they own their copy independently from that point on.Sharing uses a snapshot of the item at the moment you click Send. Any edits you make to the original after sharing — changing drill steps, updating firearm specs, editing gear fields — do not affect what the recipient receives or accepts.
Why use sharing
- Send a drill program to a training partner so they can run the same session in their own org.
- Share a firearm setup (with accessories) with a friend who’s building a similar configuration.
- Pass a range bag loadout to a teammate before a competition.
- Distribute a gear item template across multiple organizations you work with.
Recipient response
Once a share is in a recipient’s Inbox, they can take one of two actions:- Accept — My Kit copies the item into their organization’s inventory. The share moves out of both Inbox and Outbox.
- Deny — The recipient declines. The share remains visible in their Inbox and your Outbox with a
deniedstatus.
Rate limit
My Kit allows a maximum of 20 shares per user per hour. If you reach this limit, you’ll see an error when attempting to send another share. Wait until the hour window resets before sending more.Share status reference
