The Armory is the central hub for your firearms inventory in My Kit. Select Armory from the left sidebar to view all your firearms in a searchable list. Each record stores everything from basic specs and purchase details to cleaning schedules and linked documents, giving you a complete picture of every firearm in your kit.

Add a firearm

1

Open the Firearms tab

Select Armory from the sidebar and click Add firearm in the top-right corner.
2

Enter identification details

Fill in the required identification fields:
  • Name — your personal label for this firearm, shown throughout the dashboard (e.g., “Carry Glock”)
  • Make — the manufacturer (e.g., Glock, Smith & Wesson, Ruger)
  • Model — the model name or number (e.g., G19, M&P Shield, 10/22)
  • Caliber — the cartridge caliber (e.g., 9mm, .223 Rem, 12 Gauge)
3

Fill in optional details

Add any additional information you want to track:
  • Type — classify the firearm as Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, or another type
  • Serial number — for serialized and NFA-tracked items
  • Product URL — a link to the manufacturer or retailer product page
  • Weight (oz) — used for kit weight calculations in loadouts
  • Purchase date — when you acquired the firearm
  • Purchase price — what you paid; included in the total Kit Value stat card
  • Notes — freeform notes about modifications, range observations, or anything else worth recording
4

Configure the cleaning schedule

Set how often this firearm needs to be cleaned:
  • Cleaning interval (days) — the dashboard alerts you 14 days before the next cleaning is due
  • Cleaning procedure — link a saved cleaning procedure so it appears automatically when you resolve a cleaning action item
Set a cleaning interval on every firearm you actively use. My Kit surfaces a dashboard reminder 14 days before the next cleaning is due, so you never miss a maintenance window.
5

Upload a photo and documents

Optionally attach a photo and supporting files:
  • Image — upload a photo of the firearm. My Kit automatically resizes it on save.
  • Documents — attach PDFs or other files such as the owner’s manual, FFL transfer paperwork, or warranty documents.
6

Save the record

Click Save. The firearm appears in your Firearms list immediately.

Edit and delete firearms

To edit a firearm, click its name in the list and select Edit. All fields are editable, including the cleaning schedule and service status. To delete a firearm, open the edit form and click Delete. Deleting a record permanently removes the firearm and its associated image from storage. Attached documents are also removed. This action cannot be undone.
Deleting a firearm is permanent. The record, its photo, and all attached documents are removed and cannot be recovered.

Service status

Every firearm has an In service toggle you can set on the edit form. When a firearm is marked out of service, enter a reason — for example, “Awaiting parts” or “Sent for repair.”
Out-of-service firearms appear as Critical action items on the main dashboard. They remain visible there until you mark them back in service, ensuring nothing gets overlooked.

Cleaning intervals and dashboard alerts

The Cleaning interval field controls how My Kit calculates the next cleaning date. My Kit computes the due date by adding the interval to the last cleaned date. When that date is within 14 days, a cleaning reminder appears in your dashboard action items. When you resolve a cleaning action item from the dashboard, the last cleaned date updates to today automatically. You can also update it directly by editing the firearm record. To link a step-by-step procedure to a firearm, set the Cleaning procedure field. See Cleaning supplies and procedures for details on building procedures.
