Every My Kit account is tied to a single organization — your workspace. When you sign up, an organization is created for you automatically, and every piece of data you add (firearms, ammunition, gear, range sessions, loadouts) is scoped exclusively to that organization. No data is ever visible to or accessible by other organizations.
My Kit supports one organization per account at this time. You cannot create additional organizations or switch between them.

What a workspace contains

Your organization is the container for all of your inventory data. Everything you create or track in My Kit lives inside it:
  • Firearms, accessories, cleaning schedules, and documents
  • Ammunition inventory by caliber, brand, and lot number
  • Gear, loadouts, and battery schedules
  • Range sessions, drills, drill results, and competitions
  • Team members and their assigned roles
When another user joins your organization as a team member, they operate within the same shared workspace and can view or modify data according to their role.

Data isolation

My Kit enforces strict data isolation between organizations. There is no way for a member of one organization to view, query, or interact with another organization’s data — including through the sharing feature, which copies items into a recipient’s own organization rather than granting cross-organization access.
The sharing feature (drills, firearms, gear items, range bags) always copies data into the recipient’s organization. The original item in your organization is never exposed or transferred — you retain full ownership.

Membership roles

Your organization can have multiple members. Each member is assigned one of three roles that determines what they can do within the workspace.
RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull access to all data and settings. Manage billing, delete the organization, assign and remove any role. There is exactly one owner per organization.
AdminCreate, edit, and delete any inventory item, session, drill, or loadout. Invite and remove members. Cannot change billing or transfer ownership.
MemberCreate and edit their own records. View shared team inventory. Cannot invite or remove other members, and cannot delete items they do not own.
The owner role cannot be deleted or reassigned to another user without transferring ownership first. Ownership transfer is available in Settings → Organization.

How your organization is created

1

When you create a My Kit account, an organization is provisioned automatically using your name or company name provided during registration.
2

Invite team members

Go to Settings → Members and send invitations by email. Invitees receive a link to join your organization directly — they do not create a separate organization of their own.
3

Assign roles

After a member accepts your invitation, assign them the appropriate role from the member list. You can change roles at any time.
