The Shares section is the central hub for all sharing activity. The Shares tab shows items others have sent to you, and the Outbox tab shows items you have sent that have not been accepted yet. Select Shares from the left sidebar to access both. This page walks through the full workflow: sending a share, managing your Outbox, and handling incoming shares.

Send a drill share

Drills are shared from the Range Day section. The steps below use a drill as the example; the same Share button pattern applies to all shareable types.
1

Open Range Day and go to the Drills tab

Select Range Day from the left sidebar, then choose the Drills tab to see your drill templates.
2

Click Share on the drill

Find the drill you want to share and click the Share button on its card or detail view. The Share dialog opens.
3

Enter the recipient's email and an optional message

Type the recipient’s My Kit account email address in the To field. Add a message in the optional Message field if you want to give context — for example, which class or event the drill is intended for.
4

Click Send

Click Send to submit the share. My Kit captures a snapshot of the drill and all its steps at this moment and delivers it to the recipient’s Inbox.

Other shareable types

The same Share button is available on:
  • Firearm — open the firearm’s detail page in Armory, then click Share.
  • Gear item — open the item in Gear Cage, then click Share.
  • Range bag — go to Range Day → Range Bags, open the bag, then click Share.
When a firearm or gear item share is accepted, My Kit copies all data fields into the recipient’s org. Images and documents are not included — the recipient’s copy will not have any photos or file attachments that were on your original.

Manage your Outbox

Your Outbox shows every share you have sent that has not yet been accepted. This includes shares with pending, denied, and revoked statuses. Select Shares from the sidebar, then choose the Outbox tab.

Revoke a pending share

If you need to cancel a share before the recipient responds, locate it in the Outbox and click Revoke. The share status changes to revoked and it disappears from the recipient’s Inbox. You can only revoke shares that are still pending — you cannot revoke a share that has already been accepted or denied. Once a share is accepted, it cannot be undone. The recipient owns their copy independently.

Accept an incoming share

Incoming shares appear in your Inbox under the Shares tab.
1

Open your Inbox

Select Shares from the left sidebar. Pending shares appear under the Shares tab.
2

Preview the snapshot

Click on the share to expand it. You will see the snapshot data the sender captured — drill steps, firearm specs, gear fields, or range bag contents — exactly as it existed when they sent it.
3

Accept or deny

  • Click Accept to copy the item into your organization’s inventory. My Kit creates a new item in your org and marks the share as accepted.
  • Click Deny if you do not want the item. The share stays in your Inbox with a denied status so you have a record of it.
What gets copied when you accept:
Share typeCopied into your org
DrillDrill template and all steps
FirearmFirearm record and linked accessories (no images or documents)
Gear itemAll item fields (no images or documents)
Range bagBag name and full item list

Rate limit

My Kit enforces a limit of 20 shares per user per hour. If you exceed this limit, the Share dialog will display an error and the share will not be sent. Wait until the hour window resets and try again. If you need to distribute an item to many users at once, send in smaller batches spread across multiple hours.
